Assessing Depression in Older People
Course Description:
In this course you will learn to identify the tools to assess depression in older people as well as describe how to administer the tools and document the outcomes of a depression assessment.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing this course, participants should be able to:
- Define depression and explain the barriers to diagnosis
- Discuss the role of senior staff in recognising and assessing depression
- Describe appropriate strategies to be implemented following a depression assessment
Who is this course appropriate for:
This course is appropriate for RNs, ENs, Cert IV staff and care staff who complete assessments or are interested in improving the care of people living with depression.

Up to 8 hours can be earned completing this course.
