Respiratory Aids
Course Description:
There are a number of chronic respiratory conditions that require the use of respiratory aids to support the individual. This course will demonstrate how to administer oxygen, provide tracheostomy care and use an inhaler, nebuliser and CPAP machine.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing this course, participants should be able to:
- Demonstrate the use of equipment such as oxygen concentrators, portable or ambulatory oxygen systems, inhaled medications, nebuliser compressors and CPAP machines.
- Describe their storage and maintenance
- Describe the safe use of respiratory aids and implement trouble shooting strategies
