Course Description:

The Support at Home program is part of the Australian Government’s aged care reforms, designed to simplify in-home aged care services and improve the quality, flexibility, and person-centred nature of support for older people living at home.

This course provides aged care workers and service providers with a comprehensive overview of the Support at Home program, its objectives, and how it differs from current care arrangements. Learners will explore the program’s key components, including service categories, assessment processes, and quality expectations.

By completing this course, care workers will better understand how to deliver tailored, rights-based, and responsive care that supports older people to live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own homes.

From July 2025, there are a number of changes coming to the way that care at home is funded and delivered. All home care services will be moving under the Support at Home program. In this module, you will learn why Support at Home is being introduced, what it means for the people you care for, and how it will change the way care services are delivered.
