Course Description:
Appropriate hazard identification and risk assessment is essential to maintaining a safe workplace. In this course, you will learn how to recognise hazards, the practical implications of hazards, and learn the risk control strategies.

What is health and safety? – Legal obligations of employers and employees – Hazard identification in the workplace – Risk assessment – The health and safety risk management process – The Hierarchy of Risk Controls – Implementing control measures.

After completing this course, participants should be able to:
- Describe the legislative requirements for workplace health and safety
- Describe the importance of hazard identification and risk assessment
- Identify some common hazards in the workplace
- Outline how to implement control strategies
Who is this course appropriate for:
This course is appropriate for Managers, RNs, Cert IV staff and care staff working in a residential care facility.
