LGBTIQ Inclusion and Awareness 2024 Update
Course Description:
LGBTIQ+ communities commonly experience discrimination, social isolation and poor health outcomes throughout their life. This course explores how to provide individualised, inclusive care to people living in a residential setting.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing this course, participants should be able to:
- Define LGBTIQ+ and identify other key terms
- Explain why the LGBTIQ+ communities may experience difficulties moving into aged care
- Discuss the government strategies to improve the inclusivity of aged care and how to create inclusive services
