Course Description:

In this course you will learn how sleep patterns and routines change as people get older, and how people living with dementia are particularly affected.

We will explore practical strategies you can use to assist those you support to get to sleep, with a focus on providing person-centred care to ensure the person feels supported. This course is 10 minutes in duration.

Learning Outcomes:

After completing this course, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the effects dementia may have on a person's ability to sleep.
  • Outline strategies to support a person with dementia to sleep.

Who is this course appropriate for:

This course is appropriate for all staff who support people living with dementia. It is also appropriate for carers who are supporting their family or friend.

Continuing Professional Development Hours:

Up to 8 hours can be earned completing this course.
